Default Motorized Snow Scooters

You seen these things yet? Take one of them 2 stroke scooter thingies you
see advertized ad infinitum, replace the back wheel with a track and the
front with a steerable snow ski and look out!

The poor man's approach vehicle.

They're selling up in Auburn for $1700 bucks. That's a bit much, but I must
admit, and I know this will make the purists cringe, but I see a use for
one.

Just having one for getting into Cold Stream for ice climbing would be worth
it...

IF they have the range and

IF they can support a big dude with a heavy pack

Anyone tried one?

No clue but I'm sure its an environmentalists nightmare. Saw it on the news.
On packed snow they appear to go like a bat out of hell.

Spring skiing up to Virginia Lakes... *******s on the snow machines blow by
ya up the road and won't even slow down to give ya the finger. NO MORE!

Think of all the early spring ski starts on the east side, just to get up to
the snowed in roads to the trailheads of course.
