recommended Austrian ski resorts...
heya, this year ill be going to austria again... i must say, the resorts in Styria (Steiermark) are just awesome.... not many tourists, few locals, great piste quality. last year a friend and I went to Kaiserau (http://www.kaiserau.at/) very recommended.... also the Wurzeralm surroundings are great (http://www.wurzeralm.at/) a bit more touristic is the Schladming area (planai etc.), but it offers you a huge ski-highway that takes nearly 25 km's!! (few lifts between it of course) just a few ideas for the doubtfull wintersport collegues out there.... perhaps till then...... hc.tud |

My favourite haunts:
Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser (some 160 km ski runs, but not so high up) Hintertux (glacier) plus the rest of the Zillertal Katschberg (50 km runs, 1700-2500m), above the Tauern motorway Werfenweng (Land Salzburg) Bad Kleinkirchheim (Carinthia) or, if you just want to stay in a picturesque chalet with just four small ski runs around: Erfurter Hütte at the Rofan (Maurach, Tyrol) Turan |
