Default Replacing tips on roller ski poles

Hi

The question is - how to make sure the tips are properly aligned with
the handles? A ferrule just broke off completely, so I cannot tell the
exact way the metal tip was pointed. I'm afraid if I do not put in the
new one exactly right, I'll end up slipping all the time. Should have
probably marked the position while the ferrule was still in one
piece...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

after mounting the ferrule, while it's still warm, look down the pole
from the ferrule towards the handle (like you would check the
straightness of a piece of timber) and make sure the tip is pointing
the opposite way from the pole strap (as shown - hopefully - below). A
tolerance in angle of 5-10 degrees should be OK.

If you get it exactly opposite you will start slipping - in which case
just rotate is 180 degrees. Test it in your driveway before heading
out to ski.

Perhaps I don't quite understand the problem, but couldn't you just use the
position of the grip as a reference? Can you use your other pole as a guide
to position the repair? The hook should point forward.
Consider that you want the tip to release contact as you roll forward past
the planted tip. If it's 'backward', it might hook/ catch something.
