Default SLC conditions as good as they look?

Okay - taking the boys for spring break back to the SLC are next week. Last
year we were lucky to have runs open due to the lack of snow and most of PC
was already closed. This year looks to be MUCH different with the huge bases
and still snowing from what I can see. 3 days on snow - suggestions? BTW-
Boys and I are boarders (sorry folks) but they DO NOT side slip down runs or
sit in the middle of them! In fact they love nothing more than a bunch of
powder and tree runs.

My thoughts -Snowbird, Snowbasin, and then Solitude (Honeycomb Canyon)

Any other input (other then learn to ski?) ;-)

My $.02 is that late in the season altitude is your friend. Every
additional 100 feet of elevation makes for better conditions - for
instance I've seen it raining at Snowbird and snowing at Alta.

So, if it were me, I'd go to the higher elevation resorts unless I had
some local knowledge I could trust to steer me to the lower ones. The
cottonwood canyon resorts are around 8000' at the base, while the PC
resorts are around 7000' and Snowbasin's base is less than 6000'. That
makes the cottonwood canyon resorts the best bet.

Of course, if the weather cooperates, or you really like skiing slush,
or you're planning on only skiing the top part of the hill, PC/Snowbasin
might be worth it.

Totally agree with Walt here. The higher you can get, the better your
chances of success.

Tell them to watch out for a mighty Hungarian warrior, who skis with
two swords, for ski poles. Stay far away from him.

My kids are all testosterone - they would seek out such a person...... but
would be wary of poaching his line.

Agree completely. Stay as far away from that guy as possible.

Aside from the swords for poles, what does a mighty Hungarian
warrior-skier wear? A white tank top and orange shorts?

He smells like chicken wings & curly fries.

Only useful if you're downwind.

And, especially, stay away from his discharges. They're gross.

No no no.

He wears a Speedo.

With a potato.
