Default uphill skate rhythm

Watching WC and citizen skiers skate uphills (V1), it's apparent that
some pick up into a high turnover rate, while others pick up their
tempos but are usually more medium to relatively lumbering in pace (a la
Alsgaard). Is this difference a matter more of personal
preference/style or is there some other reasoning behind it? I'm
speaking generally, not about specific race tactics.

Speaking only for myself ... at 6ft 5in tall with 180cm long skate poles ...
even my sprint is lumbering.
