Not for a native Detroiter, it don't. And I haven't followed baseball
in years, so I can't jump the Tigers bandwagon now (tempted as I might
be). So what I got is a new Pistons season starting, plus a Bulls
team I can respect, and I'll still be driving 5 hours on the weekends
to ski a 485' hill. You do the math.

If you can make a genuinely clean getaway (no traffic problems), it's
closer to 4 hours. 5 is realistic for me, starting from the north
side of Chicago ('round Lawrence & Pulaski). It's good fun for
weekend. Where do you usually go?

This is an unfortunate turn of events. But look at the bright side -
