Sounds like you already know all the different viewpoints. It really
matters on what you want to do with the board. If you ride switch a
lot, a duck footed stance will give you more flexibilty - although even
the pros rarely go more than -6 in the back foot from what I've seen.

I don't understand the popularity of duck for general-purpose riding but
I confess it's been a long time since I rode soft boots. I vary rarely
see a duck rider who is what I would consider competent on the snow, but
a lot of them are good in the air. When I see one who can carve, I
think of it sort of like running in army boots - you can do it, but why
limit yourself that badly with the equipment?

If you are a heavy racer/carver... then a higher angle (45-30) stance
might be better (although you need good boots/bindings for 35 angles).

Common wisdom is that 45 degrees is the limit for softboots. But if
you're looking at angles like that, why are you still in softies?

My view is that you set your angles so that there's no overhang. For
size 10 feet on a normal (25 cm waist) board you'll probably be well
into the 20s. And that's a Good Thing, IMSNHO, unless you like to spin
and ride switch in which case you probably want to have much shallower
angles. lonerider's angles are good examples of the right stance for
the application.

My own angles are 45 f/40 r on a 21.5 cm waist, 35/30 on a 25 cm waist,
size 27.5 boots. I ride hardboots exclusively.
