Sublimation vs transport
This may be related to skiing , because , it sometimes comes into question,,
and I get very confused about it The question is: When you have a half full common plastic bottle ( with screw top) and you want to save it for further use ar a later time,,and you want to minimize the loss of Fizz, ie bubbles leaving the liquid, ...is it better to just screw the cap on or crush the plastic bottle somewhat to minimize the volume above the liquid ??? |

I think half full common plastic bottles are a lot like good women. When you find a good one, even after they've lost a little fizz, they still taste as good. -- According to John Perry Barlow, "Jeff Davis is a truly gifted trouble-maker." |

Depends; if you have a mechanism (a compression strap or clamp, f'rinstance) to keep the bottle crushed, then crushed is better. But if not, then the bottle can expand back to its original volume as the CO2 comes out of solution, and overall your beverage gets more flat than it would have if you didn't crush the bottle. bw |

Sounds to me like you need to move up to better quality wine. I'm just saying... Fill it with marbles. I'm not joking. But drink slowly. Seriously. -- //-Walt // // http://tinyurl.com/3xqyq |
