Yah, we're buyiing a lot in bulk. $8 a meal is a bit much when buying
small salty meals. You could easily spend $80 a day. Multiply by 30,
and it's a significant chink of change. Bulk is the way to go.

I spent $220.00 on 21 lbs. of Backpacker Pantry groceries that lasted over
25 days. That worked out to less than $10.00/day. The Thai Satay with
beef was my favorite. I strongly suggest you save weight. Take enough
gas and food to make 14 camp, and bring a case of toilet paper. Trade for
everything else you need...

I just saw Gowler. He's back from Moab, and heading for Talkeetna next
week for a couple of West Butt climbs with clients. Hope he has better luck
than last season. He had one client killed outright by rockfall at Windy
Corner and two severely injured who were flown out.

Me? I'm gonna go see some San Francisco Giants games...

Best advice yet. You can always get fuel from conservative folks at
medical camp. For something to wipe your ass with.

Good move. Wise decision.

couscous is a good rice alternative, it cooks faster and I think it is a bit
lighter in weight, too.

Did that last year. Saves lots of fuel.

It is the Indian Summer from hell here. Winter starts in June, and today the
forcast is for 27 C which is summer temps. April is headed to be teh hottest
april on record. Anyway, winter arrives tomorrow apparently so I'm off to
buy a ute-load of firewood before they put the prices up. The bloke reckoned
they don't even have their main yard open yet, as no one is interested.

That's OK, it's supposed to be spring here, but it is snowing today.

SBC Park is a hell of a lot warmer than the Stick, but I'll be packing plenty
of fleece for the Dodgers series in September. I'll leave the down at home.

My mom, the long-time rabid Dodger fan, is disgusted. Dodger Stadium is ugly,
the unknown team members don't have names, and she wants the management boiled
in oil. She wouldn't go so far as to support the Giants, though. Nobody
could be that sick.

Still no obski, dammit.

**** - who need paper? Wipe with snow - clean your hands by rubbing more
snow on them - worked fine up in the watershed at Solitude when I left a
gift for mormons due to deficient restrooms when serious need hit a
couple of months ago. When's that outhouse pump-out scheduled?
