For price and basic rental along with some high performance go to Ski Connection just north of the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Ask for Steve tell them Bob T. sent you. 801-942-2002. If you want to switch out and do more of a demo thing you might be better off to rent on the hill. Alta is promoting "more demo shacks" but I'm not sure how it works. Check their website. When are you coming? pigo |

When are you coming? pigo Thanks Pigo. It's an early Feb trip. I'm trying to get my San Diego friend to meet me in SLC, but he's leaning toward Tahoe (the price of driving vs flying). If I book now I can get a non-stop flight to SLC for $200 round trip! He's the advanced skiier and I'm the advanced beginner or solid intermediate (depending on your definitions). I can ski many of the blacks at Sugar Bowl and a few of the blacks at Squaw and all of the blacks at Northstar. I'm dying to try some powder skiing and it doesn't even have to be untracked (that would be a real treat, though). I've skied (sp?) 6 to 12 inches of fresh snow (I guess Utah might call it wet powder, but it was powder to me!) at Tahoe and loved it. I think I'm ready for 1 to 2 feet of dry powder. |

The best plan is to come and hope for the best but take what you get and have a good time. Best places for powder are Alta and Deer Valley as they don't allow snowboards. So ever when it's tracked it's not squished. Obviously we have to be a little cautious because of our resident deranged stalker kook. But let me know when it get's closer I'll let you know the conditions and options. pigo |

Is "it" in our neighborhood, again? Just like a 6 foot tall cockroach: I don't think so. How would we know? There's bound to be an emergency motorcycle trip if we get too close. Maybe we can set up a meet on the traverse to mid-Ballroom. He'd never venture out there. The doctor thought for a moment and said, yes, there's a nasty bug going around. Guffaw Hack Cough........ I seem to have caught it too. I would have loved to skied yesterday but felt too crappy. pigo |

Thanks for the offer and the info. |
