Val d'Isère to Risoul
"wanadoo news @rogermoss.com" roger.mossremove to reply wrote in message ... | Anyone got any ideas for the shortest route between Val and Risoul? | | Looks a bit mad when the Col de l'Iseran is closed (like all winter), so | maybe a foray into Italy might be on the cards... | | Your recommendations, please. | Just head up the Maurienne to the Frejus Tunnel, into Italy, then back across the Col de Montgenèvre assuming it's open, Briancon, then down to Risoul.. 3 to 4 hours depending on conditions. Well yes, but 'Just head up the Maurienne' from val d'Isère is not obvious. You'll need to go all the way past Albertville in the Chambéry direction on the A430 before turning down towards the Frejus on the A43. -- Ace (brucedotrogers a.t rochedotcom) Ski Club of Great Britain - http://www.skiclub.co.uk All opinions expressed are personal and in no way represent those of the Ski Club. |

Was feeling lazy, plus a quick look at the map really only shows a couple of options.. in fact, depending on the road (col de Mongenevre - took me hours to cross it once) I might go via Grenoble. All right at this time of year though. In theory. Pete www.skiclublesarcs.com |
