Johnny,

You may be more interested in our new flight line. It's not even

available
yet, but should be by January. It's designed with more of your needs in
mind, but will maintain the same stability of our other boards. Give us a
couple more weeks on it and we should have just about everything lined

out.

Sean Martin

Intriguing, Sean. What's different about the Flight?

Brian.

New lighter core. Some new manufacturing processes. A little different
shape. Softer flex. Available in some retail outlets.

The name isn't set in stone yet. We just came up with a new one today. We
were thinking of maybe changing it to Phoenix. A little symbolism
surrounding our little disaster last year. We'll have to see.

Not sure if it's appropriate to ask here, but: how does this new
board compare with Incline, and more importantly the stuff I know
well: burton custom and palmer carbon circle?

I'm looking for something less stiff than my current carbon
circle, and it's likely that I'll end up being your customer,
but I need some reference points to make an intelligent decision..

PS: I hope those *******s who stole my K2 electra at Boreal
last year will burn well when they get to where they belong!

PPS: anyone knows a shop that would demo Catek bindings
around Seattle? I'm very much interested, but not to the
point of buying them sight unseen..

If you want to demo Catek bindings, the best person to ask is Jeff at
Catek. I don't know if he sends out demos to individuals, but he'd
certainly know if he had any demos floating around your area.

Well you'd have to ask someone else as to comparing our existing line to the
palmer. The line we make right now is fairly close to some of the palmer
boards from a specs standpoint. They also do quite well in a BX coarse as
do the palmers. With the new line, we're trying to come more in line (turn
radius and stiffness) with what the rest of the industry is producing for
freeride boards. We believe that this line will enable us to appeal to a
broader range of customers. It will also be made available to high end
specialty shops, unlike the incline, wide, and sasquatch lines.

Will you produce "wide" and "sasquatch" widths for this new board, whatever
its name turns out to be?

Brian.

Sean, Phoenix is much too cool a name for a twin tip. Save that one
for your next revolutionary alpine or boardercross design.

Initially the line will be a bit more limited than our existing lines. If
things go well, we will expand it to meet the same needs we're meeting with
the incline, wide, and sasquatch lines. We have no intention of eliminating
any of the lines though.

I'm definitely looking forward to a Donek wide 165 that should be
arriving soon. For better or worse (though probably for the better),
I've never owned a soft board. After 3 times out on rental boards, I
bought my first ride - a K2 Eldo back in '97. Since then, I've been
on a Ride Timeless for the past few years. We'll just have to see how
the Wide feels after these boards. I'll be sure to post a report once
I have some experience on it.
