I just fixed that problem last week by slipping a paperclip through the zipper
to replace the pull.

Paper clips are a little hard to grip. On the side zippers of some ski
pants I wrapped the paper clip pull replacement with a bit of duct tape
to make an easier grip. Really.

I usually tie on a loop of rawhide with a big knot at the far end.

*Try Wilson Eastside Sports on Main Street in Bishop. You may find a
good bargain, It is more of an outdoor/camping store like A-16 or REI,
but they have good stuff.

So many good tips about Bishop! I usually just stop there for gas and
fast food, except once when traveling to Mammoth in bad weather with
my brother we decided we couldn't go any further that night.

Then where do you put your car keys?

The bib-overall-style pants in question had already been patched with
velcro strips when one of the suspender strap latches broke years
ago. *And the zipper still works, but the pull tab disappeared so it
requires bare fingers to open and close.

Anyway, I took the opportunity to get myself 2 new pairs from a used
sports shop.

Ours PIA stopped carrying ski stuff for a while, but they started up
again. *Last time I looked they had some nice boots, but I'm not yet
unhappy with what I have.

And, just to keep up the dirtbag quotient, I removed the lock from the
gas filler panel on my truck because it was getting difficult and
replaced it for the moment with a couple of strips of duck tape.

DUCK tape? *Feh.

I got tired of the locking gas cap on the truck, so I replaced it with
an ordinary one. *The gas gauge didn't work, so I just keep track of how
far I've gone. *Truck died at night on the freeway after I'd only gone
120 miles or so. *Kind of scary because of the location at the end of an
on-ramp, and the rear lights on a 70 Dodge pickup are pretty damn
inadequate. *Auto club dragged me home. *Replaced the fuel pump. *Still
wouldn't start.

Husband said "Are you SURE you're not out of gas?" *so I got a couple of
gallons from the corner station. *Started up. *Took 15 more. *Some
****head had siphoned me. *Bought another locking cap the next day.

Maybe duct tape would have prevented this, but I wouldn't count on it.

Friend from Laguna Niguel wants to go to BB next wee, so I tried to make
a google map for him. *I swear they used to work right, but I spent two
hours before I gave up. *Mapquest is better, but it isn't all that
intuitive either.

I'll report back on the Arrowhead route...

Would you two get a room? Old psychopaths bonding is truly revolting.

Duct tape is easier.

But if I was going to have it repaired, I would have it replaced with
velcro.

Easy solution. Take a key ring and thread it through the hole for the
tab. Several pull tabs have come off the sail cover on my yacht and
that's what we do. Key rings are easier to use than pull tabs. Use a
stainless steel one or a good chromed one that won't rust.

There is no hole in what is left of the zipper.

Besides, I already like the new pants I bought.
