We have been discussing our internet strategy for Olin and K2 over the
past several weeks. It is our objective to be much more attentive to this
aspect of our marketing efforts and consequently, to focus a large
percentage of our marketing resources on this communications
medium.

Given this emphasis, Norm Mayall has agreed to come out of
mothballs and head up our internet efforts. In the short term he will be
responsible for monitoring activity in our existing Olin and K2 chatrooms
-- which will be changed dramatically in the near future. Norm will also
be helping us shape the overall tone and feel of our future web-based
messages.

As a result of these decisions, we have elected to terminate the informal
working relationship we have with you in the K2 chatroom, as well as
the work you have done as Smooth Johnson for the Olin brand. We can
discuss an "exit strategy" for Smooth if you think it is necessary, but I
would like this transition to be completed within the next week.

Thank you for your support of K2 and Olin over the years. We appreciate
the efforts you have made on our behalf.
