A lady in the chalet I am presently sitting in did just that, two days
ago, only it was her femur she broke. She's in Grenoble South Hospital
right now.

Well, the answer is obviouis, isn't it? Compulsory body armour.

I am slowly becoming more risk averse (by my standards). But I find the
problem with up-armoring is like when I am wearing steel toe cap
boots. That is all fine but I find I just start dropping logs, tools,
saws, wedges, axes et cetera onto the boots because I know I do not
have to move my feet out of the way.

This is fine until I change back to non-steel-toe-cap boots and then
.... forget.

If I wore a stunt-suit which would protect from all sorts, I would
just start trying all sorts of lunatic descents.

The answer is to wear Bermuda shorts and flip-flops. Compulsory.
