Default Snow on its way?

All my local contacts have reported that it's snowing in the French
Alps today, even at village level in places like Morillon. More is
forecast for the w/e and places like Val Thorens have apparently
already taken 20cm. Still early to shout but can't be bad eh!

Perfect weather (for non-skiers) in Valais yesterday until mid-day, when the
long-awaited front moved in...

The current forecast is for three days at least of falls for the northern
French Alps, with snow-line at around 1100m. Air temps are already low and
dropping, too, so things could just be set for an early start to the season.
Tignes already has great-looking snow on the glacier, so this will really
give a few lucky people a good weekend.

Tonight's French TV weather map suggests that around the Grand Massif -
Flaine, Samoëns, etc. could be a good bet, as usual.

To the webcams, then! Once it's light, of course...
