My achilles tendon is sore. I think it's from missed kicks. It's
happened before. I recall that it goes away with use---correct use,
that is. But I'm not positive.

Anyone else get a sore achilles related to classic skiing?

I had problems, not from classic though. The only thing I could point to
was deep knee bends down too far with feet not lifting heels.
What seemed to work for me was religious stretching of the calf muscles
(both with straight knee and bent knee (does 2 different muscles) and also
eccentric (ie: muscle extending exercise) exercise of the calf muscles. A
Swedish study came up with very good results for this.

Oh yeah, may not be related, but I had to start using extra cushion pads
in my shoes or my feet hurt bad. I found that the "2 ounce Miracle" sold
at Target (a medium soft memory foam that molds to your foot) works very
well for me.

I also had achilles problems when runnung. The solution was to eat Calsium.
The problem disappeared and I have never had achilles problems since that
time, 20-30 years ago. I still eat that white stuff.
