Also, make sure that when the strap is closed the ratchet is resting on
a curve. Won't work well if the ratchet is too close to the base-plate
on the ladder side. In this scenario - the ladder is straight and the
ratchet will slide off because the teeth cannot latch onto the ladder.
Simple adjustment if this is the problem.
