Most regular buses from airports to ski resorts don't run in summer as
there are not enough clients to justify the service - for Geneva see

Private transfers are pretty expensive (allow about £600 rtn for a car
from GVA to Val Tho that can take up to 4 people) so best option is
car hire by far. Although prices have gone up quite a bit over the
past few months because most car hire companies have cut down their
fleets fairly significantly and put prices up.

I was thinking of going to Val Thorens in mid December, and I was trying to
compare the cost and convenience of car hire versus taking a bus.
