Are the conditions suitable in any of the higher resorts such as Banff
or Jasper at this time of year?

If it's not worth the trip then I may have to postpone but I really
don't want to.

I wouldn't spend a pile of money to go to Banff or Jasper in mid-december.
There usually isn't a lot of snow at that point in the season here. Check
the snow reports first.
