Default Is Tahoe worthwhile in early May?

A friend wants me to come out and go skiing with him, but I won't have
a chance until May.

With the amounts of snow they are reporting I'd say that they will
have a good May.

Spring corn used to be some of the easiest, most fun skiing there was.
The "powder" in the trees that was allowed to sit and freeze/thaw
until it would support a skier was magical. Unfortuneately it now gets
hacked up by the two legged groomers that can stay on top of the heavy
stuff and hack their way through.

But aside from the inherent hassles of mixing sideways/backwards
moving snowboards vs. downhill skiers the ski runs themselves should
have some fun stuff. You just have to approach it differently than
winter skiing. Make sure that it freezes overnight. Then catch the
slopes that either have direct sun or low enough elevation to thaw
slightly as you arrive. It will probably only take one or two runs for
them to go off and get too warm. Then move up or to another area that
the sun is just hitting. Follow that barely thawing pattern around the
mountain.
