If the off-piste involves any significant uphill or rolling terrain
you're more likely to encounter skiers with touring bindings.

It also depends on the location. I was skiing the Grand Montet in
Argentiere last weekend, which is mainly off piste, served by a few
pistes. Snow boarders were in a minority both on and off the piste.
