Ner Geneva try: Avoriaz/Morzine or Chatel.
You could sleep in Annemasse (french town near Geneva) and going to try each
morning a new resort.
For example, cheapest hotel is like "Formule 1 Hostel" 27 euro per night for
room for 3 persons.

Hello all,

So, here's a little quiz for the experts in the Geneva area.

3 or 4 of us are planning a long weekend ski trip (Thurs - Sat night
inclusive) in late Jan. We're looking for a cheap-ish hotel (say 2*) in
a resort close to Geneva. I'm thinking Grand Massif or Portes du Soleil,
or maybe the Mont Blanc region (however, I am ruling out Chamonix itself
on account of my New Year's resolution to try some different ski
resort(s) this year). Would be more than happy with self catering if we
could find a place that can just do 3 nights.

A place with a couple of bars and convenient skiing is really what we
are after. Bigtime nightlife is not needed, we don't have the strength
anymo-( Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?

I'd be happy to hear opinions on resorts, but I'm *really* after ideas
for a specific place to stay.
