Default skiing (second try)

We seem to be losing our momentum again.

So...
Although Mother Nature, or Ullr and Skadi, whoever
you pray to, have not been particularly kind so far
this year, temperature has cooperated and skiing
hasn't been too bad in New England.

Skied Pico (that's pie-koh) yesterday and had a
wonderful time. Crowds were thin enough there so that
I could still find some nice loose freshies from
Tuesday's three inches or so without needing to
go in the woods. Granted, if the groomers hadn't
been out on some of the trails, bumps would have
been uncomfortable on the more popular trails.

There are a couple of trails at Pico who's top sections
are closed and you have to enter from a lower point
which is not readily apparent and so didn't have
lots of traffic in spite of a general busyness.
These trails skied VERY well.

I need to give great kudos to the Killington/Pico
snowmakers and groomers for preventing what could
have been a disastrous year.

On the other hand, Okemo, which has the reputation
of being the very best at both snowmaking and grooming
seems to be slipping a bit since the Mullers sold
out, even though the Mullers are still the managers.
I've had people, who normally ski Okemo, come up to
me (in my Killington uniform) to say that they thought
that Killington appeared to be doing a better job
with slope maintenance than Okemo was doing this year.
