I've tried just about all of the lobster gloves available in N.A. and
Sinisalo makes the best I've found and they take a liner underneath,
if things get really cold. No current US importer, so get them across
the border at Fresh Air Experience:
http://www.freshairexp.com/index.php. Importer is Canadian Wintersports
Corp., . For Sinisalo's website:

Any suggestions for large size breathable mittens, preferable with
some insulation of their own, and big enough to mix and match with
inner gloves or mitts for various temps.
I got some last week that were supposed to be breathable, but I think
that was only on the low activity downhill scale, cause my hands got
mighty damp inside them (warm though!)
If I had to I could go to rag wool mitts and some kind of nylon
shell. I have sporthill mitt covers which are nice but too small for
a good size inner mitt.
