I just stumbled across an online copy of the Newport High School
yearbook from 1966. *Derrick's photo is on page 25.

I remember him from ski-bus days at Jay Peak. *One year he had a
racing crash and one of his ankles ended up in a cast, so he skied the
rest of the year on one ski. *He didn't race any more that year, but
on one ski he could easily beat the local ski rats on two.

up boots and what look like long-thongs wrapped around them.
