Although I should admit... out of my current quiver, my shortest board is
probably my easiest to ride in powder. This doesn't surprise me because I
estimate that it also has the most surface area, it's a lot wider than the
rest. I don't have the time or energy to measure and calculate the exact
surface areas of all my boards, but I'll estimate my simply taking length *
waist width:

Donek Wide 161: 161 * 26 = 4186 cm^2
Donek Incline 168: 168 * 24 = 4032 cm^2
Donek Axis 172: 172 * 21.5 = 3698 cm^2
Coiler PR 184: 184 * 18.5 = 3404 cm^2




Well, I'm leaning towards Prior Khyber. There is a 165 version, which seams
perfect for me. I've always thought Fish was too "extreme" for me, I don't want
to be that much back on my board and the longest Fish ia 160, very hard to find
and still seams too short. Khyber 165 is more of a "normal" board, with
just a wide nose
and more floatation than my Shogun 166. The stand is pushed backwards,
but not as much as Fish. As a longer board (than Fish), I shouldn't
have problems on flats
as other reported with their Fish boards. I'll give it a shot.
And those who are trying to tell me I don't need a powder board, apparently
have never seen real powder. I wish you came to Mammoth on Jan 1st,
when chair 9
opened after two weeks of dump and there was more than 6 feet of pure powder.
I wish I saw you there on your short board digging yourself out for an hour.
And yes, Mammoth have those kind of conditions quite often, it's not
just for "one day".
