Nice article on Engelberg in yesterday's Guardian.

Ta for that. Interesting article, but with a couple of glaring factual
innacuracies, most notably the population of 400 (it's actually 4000).

A better article appeared in the telegraph a couple of months back

and while searching for that I also came across one from the previous
year

Skiing's been great so far this season - we've both had well over 30
days on snow - with plenty of snow at regular enough intervals.
Yesterday felt like spring, with genuinely warm weather for the first
time since one freak day of foehn wind in December. Had an earlyish
start so were happy to call it a day just after two when the vis had
got a bit **** higher up and the lower off-piste was getting heavy.

But there's more cold weather forecast for the rest of this week, with
a decent dump towards the weekend, so it looks like next weekend we'll
be skiing powder again. It's all too much, I tells ya!

I certainly had a good couple of weeks in Flaine at the end of
January, though the weather promised rather more powder than it
delivered, which as a slight shame because I was doing an SCGB
Freshtracks course on the second week. Still, our instructors found
enough powder for us to fall over in.

Annoyingly, it hammered down with snow the morning I left.
