That can be discussed since people here do not think that modern norwegian
is a newer version of old norse. They think of them as 2 different
languages. A man talking norwegian and a man talking icelandic do not
understand each other, although by reading icelandic a norwegian can
understand some of it. The other nordic languages (danish and swedish) are
much more closer related to norwegian than icelandic or "gammelnorsk".
