Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way over here. The phone
companies just don't play fair and wont until we pass some laws to
make them.

For those who don't know what we are talking about, in Europe you buy
your phone seperate from your plan provider and just get the SIM card
from your provider. Here, if you want to switch providers you need to
get a new phone. Just another way to lock you into a provider. At
least we are making progress with number portability.
