I can't live by your rules, man.
Yeah, he lost me with the fruit beers.

*FRUIT* beer? WTF?

Years ago I was hitchhiking in Belgium with my gf. A guy picked us up
and put us up for the night. He and his wife took us out for a night
on the town (Bruges). He ordered drinks for all of us; some sort of
dark ale for he and I, and raspberry something or other "for the
women". Her reaction was, "*FRUIT* beer? WTF?" ...or something
equivalent.

Belgian Raspberry beer. It's called Kriek IIRC. It used to be all the
rage at the Full Moon back in the 80's.

But like Styx, Journey, Leg Warmers, and the Commodore 64 I thought it
was over. Silly me.

From Wikipedia:

Kriek is a Belgian beer fermented with sour (also called Morello)
cherries. Traditionally "Schaarbeekse krieken" (a rare Belgian morello
variety) from the area around Brussels are used. Kriek is a Dutch word
for sour cherry.

I suppose my memory has failed me as to the fruity flavor of the
"beer" in question.

I always liked the leg warmer look........ then again I kinda like the
Uggs and tights look too.
