Cross-country cat
On the way through various rainy-day errands today, I stopped at the
local book shop, where I saw a book called "Cross-Country Cat." This is
an illustrated children's book about - wait for it - a cat that skis.
(I notice on amazon.com that the same author, Mary Calhoun, has written
a series of books, where the same cat takes up other interesting hobbies
such as hot-air ballooning, high-wire walking, and sailing.) I don't
want to give away the ending of the book, but, well, let's just say that
that cat can ski. Oh, I can't stop myself, here's a spoiler: he does
pretty well on the downhills.
So, if anyone has or knows of a child who could benefit from a book
about a cat that skis, then this information may be of use to you. The
list price of the book is US$5.95.
No, I didn't buy it. I did buy yet another New England trail sampler
and a snowmobile trail map, though. Can't have enough maps or trail guides.
