I picked up a BCA Stash Alp 40 this year and *really* like it. There is
a slot on the side for shovel handle and probe, and a pocket for the
shovel blade. I hate having the stuff in the main compartment any more.
The skis do not ride into my shoulders like my old pack when strapped on.
