As doctors will tell you: most accidents happen on the last or first day
of the vacation. First, because people are too fit and overestimate
themself, last, because people are too tired and reflexes slowed down.

Yeah, maybe you were too unaccustomed to the board or the board really
has quirks ... but the accident itself happened, because you were not
careful enough in spite of the strangeness.

Get well soon (and respect the mountain more next time).

PS: Different binding too? Sounds as if the board reacts faster.
