Can you recommend a nice cross-country skiing place not far from NYC
 

Can anybody recommend a nice cross-country skiing place to stay for a
few days for a family of three please.
I'd like for my kid to start some snow activities (light x-country
skiing, toboggan, ...)

The resort should have nice accommodation and logging facilities, good
food service, ski equipment and lessons for beginners
and be within 3-hour drive from NYC
