Ski Purchase Help needed

I want to buy a pair of Skis and boots for my wife. She is a beginner
and we dont want to spend a lot of $$ on skis. Can someone suggest some
online store where one can buy decent skis for a reasonable price. I
bought my snowboard from http://www.snowboarddepot.com/ and I liked the
price a lot. It has some cosmetic defects but I didnt care for a small
paint stain here and there.

Is there any website like the one listed above for skis?

Thanks,
Shoaib

Many sporting goods stores are running very big discounts on "previous
year" stuff. Also, big retailers are hurting, many have deeply
discounted packages available. Boots are one of those things that it's
really better to buy in person, at least you can see if they fit
reasonably well.

Where are you located? I do most of my shopping on Ebay and have got some
great deals. However there are deals to be had at ski shops too.

Twin Cities, Minnesota.

If you look at Lisa's response from Dec 21 she mentioned some generals
and I was wondering if I could get some specific names.
