Bus between Geneva airport and Val thorens
 

It would appear that there is s bus service between Val Thorens and Geneva
airport, but at this time of year it is hard to find out how often it runs
(on a Saturday)
or what it costs. Can anyone provide this information? The alternative
would be to hire a car at Geneva airport. There are just two of us.

Most regular buses from airports to ski resorts don't run in summer as
there are not enough clients to justify the service - for Geneva see
http://www.gva.ch/en/Desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-62.
Private transfers are pretty expensive (allow about £600 rtn for a car
from GVA to Val Tho that can take up to 4 people) so best option is
car hire by far. Although prices have gone up quite a bit over the
past few months because most car hire companies have cut down their
fleets fairly significantly and put prices up.

Cost, for one person, is clearly much lower on the bus. For a one week
stay, I believe the break-even number would be around three, i.e. if

village, will probably involve significantly more walking with bags,
including the need to change buses in Moûtiers, only runs every hour
or two for limited times of day, but will probably be much cheaper
overall. Time-wise there's not really that much in it - if your flight
arrives at a good time for the bus you're looking at around four hours
total. Picking up the hire car, driving there and then parking will
probably take you something over three hours.

Bear in mind that some of the services don't start until the week
before xmas, so plan carefully. Also consider the other option of just
arranging a private transfer, which is usually the best option if you

3 homes burglarized for $40,000 in jewelry
 

Burglars took more than $40,000 in TIFFANY BRACELETS jewelry from three homes in Glenview last week, authorities said.Someone entered a home in the 2300 block of Lily Lane late last week and took $41,000 worth of jewelry, according to police.
