First ever North American Urban Avalanche Report!!!
 

Above Juneau, AK there are several paths perched over large
neighborhoods, making the town by far the most vulerable to urban
avalanches in North America. Bill Glude of the Southeast Alaska
Avalanche Center (SEAAC) has been trying for years to get funding for
a forecast, as well as motions toward more permenant mitigations.
Finally this year, the city posted some funding to the SEAAC. This is
something of a historic marker in the avalanche community, as well as
for alaska, which as the highest per capita fatality rate in the
country due to avalanches by far. The report, and other info, can be
