All you heathen snowboarders in the great Northeast bow down
before ULLR!

The National Weather Service in Burlington continues the Heavy Snow
Warning from 1 am Wednesday to 7 am EST Thursday for the northern
Adirondacks of New York...the Champlain Valley...and north central and
northeast Vermont. The warning is due to the anticipation of heavy snow
and near blizzard conditions. Snow will spread across the warning area
after midnight tonight and continue through all of Wednesday. The snow
will be heavy at times Wednesday afternoon and result in total snow
accumulations of 16 to 26 inches by early Thursday morning. Northwest
winds will also be increasing during the afternoon hours on Wednesday
and result in blowing and drifting snow and near blizzard conditions.
This is a dangerous winter weather situation! Advanced planning will be
critical to dealing with this winter storm. Take the necessary action
that you need to prepare for this event. Be aware that travel will
become increasingly difficult across the northern Adirondacks of New
York...the Champlain Valley...and north central and northeast Vermont
due to near blizzard conditions...with heavy snow and blowing and
drifting snow.

Didn't New York get a huge blizzard last week? Snowfall being measured in
inches per hour.

sadly the highest thing in that part of NY is Johnny's
tree house. What they really need to get cracking on is
a Super Fresh Kills. Imagine a manmade 1000 acre 2k vert
'mountain' right smack in the middle of that lake effect
snow!

NY Times had a little graphic showing a contour map of
the snowfall as well as YTD totals.. Redfield, before
today's storm had 140" in the prior squalls and has 245
so far this season.

A few of us were considering driving down there this weekend with our
snowboards and kites and ripping up all that horizonal powder. Almost as
good as a mountain, but no crowds, lift lines, grooming, etc. etc.!

I'm still waiting for some snow to fall close enough to play in. Never
mind, the sea is still +11C (unheard of for this time of year), so I'll be
in the water with my SLE instead this weekend.
