New Zealand in january for a few weeks skiing in austria and then the
briancon region, im no longer worried about austria but its looking
dire in france and i dont want to book where there is not much snow
after coming so far =/. also does anyone know how long it takes to get

Since you won't be in France till end of January presumably, I reckon
you can stop worrying. There's a fairly major dump forecast over the
next few days, but there's loads of time yet in any case. Great area
Briancon - have been to Mongenevre before, just up the road, and it's
wonderful scenery.

By Feb the only thing you'll have to worry about is what seems like most
of the French population descending on the resorts during their annual
pilgrimage to the snow!

Seriously though, late Jan/Feb should be no problem, and conditions may
be average right now in the northern Alps but they're pretty good in the
south. Keep your eyes open for some Queenstowners if you go up to
Montgenèvre from Briancon, their alpine ski team spends a chunk of each
winter there....

Innsbruck to St Anton is a nice easy drive: not much more than an hour. For
further info check
www.mappy.fr
(note you want St Anton am Arlberg)
