My wife and I met this family in Reukin Telemark early March 2008 as
they were about to set off on their hut trip with the purpose of
writing this article. They are American living in Trondheim, He is a
professor, she obviously a writer, with two cute and engaging teenage
daughters. Thanks for the link!

You probably meant Rjukan, right?

We drove through Rjukan today before getting into the mountains and over
to Rauland and our cabin.

The skiing was quite nice actually, even though the new snow falling all
afternoon reduced the glide a bit.

Nice article, I've visited most of the areas/huts she writes about. :-)

I've also done some kite skiing on Hardangervidda, it is best location
for it that I know about.

Nice article... I failed to ski across it last year when we had some
faulty bindings crack on us, so we had two false starts before a quick
loop through Skarvheimen to salvage the trip. We still had a nice time,
and the Hardanger plans are still there for next time!

Very nice, you've done a good job describing "Hytte-til-hytte" trips!

One error I noted just now:

"Mainland Norway stretches from about 50 to 73 degrees latitude, and"

This should be 58 to 71, which is comparable to Alaska.
