Near as I can tell Winter Park's primary appeal is it's close enough to
Denver to make it a day trip - sleep Denver, ski Winter. (Although why
anyone'd want to stay in Denver another question.)

So, my comment: if you're interested in near-slope accommodations you
should maybe look into the ski hills further west.
