New York / Ohio Beginner slopes ?

Hi, Can you all recommend anywhere around New York City or Cincinnati
Ohio for skiing that has some easy and long beginner slopes that will
keep interest?

Thanks

I don't know that there's anything long in Ohio, but I think everything
there is pretty easy. Assuming that there's snow.

As for NY, head to the Poconos. Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Camelback, etc.

Probably the best place for beginners near NYC is Belleayre. They have
very long, gentle beginner trails and once the beginners master them
there are are easy, low intermediate trails at the top of the mountain.

It was either Ski or Skiing magazine that called Belleayre "the best
place to learn to ski in the east".

Its exit 19 off the NYS Thruway, about 2 hours from Manhattan.

I think there is a bus from Manhattan to Belleayre that leaves from Port
Authority every day and the price includes lift ticket.

Hi: Read our POST re Belleayre Mtn. Ovbiousy you've enjoyed the area
as we have since WW II (1943-46) as a US ARMY, 10th Infantry Div. Lt.

You will recognize our description of the top of the mtn run to the left
as you leave the lift chair.

We've skied and boarded it hundreds of times teaching turns, speed
control, etc.

See you at Belleayre ! And..........a............

Happy Mardi Gras to you !
