Is that true? All those mountains and the highest city in Europe is only
1326m? I'm surprised. Even Denver is higher. And I'm higher than Denver,

Neither is Serre-Che, but English isn't the poster's first language.
You can do some great walking down there.

Wikipedia says so.

The flat bits in the alps that are big enough to build on are fairly low.

Briancon is at the foot of the only pass (that I can think of) between
France and Italy that stays open in the winter and of another to Grenoble
and Lyon.
