Anyone watching? Thoughts?

Shaun White remains the man. I've still never seen anyone as
consistently smooth. Good that he challenged himself with a fall in
the quals, and overcame the pressure.

Hannah Teter was OK, but pretty herky jerky in at least one of her
moves. Good enough for the gold, though, so who am I to complain.

Men's boardercross was killer good. What an excellent pass made for
the gold.

Haven't seen the women's boardercross yet, but it sounds like
Jacobellis put the cart before the horse. Dumb mistake?

What's up with those gawd-awful USA Burton uniforms? Yankee
pinstripes? Pathetic.

I watched it live on CBC this morning and I think AP was
bashing her a bit much - I didn't even notice her grabbing
the board and it didn't look like showboating - I think she
just let the concentration break and sketched on her landing.
I was still half asleep but will try to watch it again tonight.

Agreed they were bad. Though apparently they had all the Burton
iPod/electronic implants.

well.. it wasn't flagrant showboating but does look like she was
showing off a little and just lost it on the landing but even that
is still kinda hard to believe. **** happens.

I agree. I think the real mistake was looking back and then breaking
your concentration from the race. If you look, she didn't really hit
the takeff that great (she was drifting), so it would be been a tough
landing even without the grab. I grab backside method as my "safety
grab" to keep me stable over jumps and I can do it on any jump with my
eyes closed and if I crash... it wasn't because I was styling too much
on my method. Any competitive rider would be able to do a simple grab
like that without trouble. Even so it is totally part of the spirit to
relax a little if you are that far ahead, pretty much all the riders do
it - just they make sure to land it and win anyways.
