i'm about to invest in a completely new set up and i'm wondering what
would be best as far as brands.
i have access to good deals on salomon and atomic, so i could do boots,
bindings, and skis all from one or a combonation of both. ????

Pick the boots that fit you best. Base the bindings on that. Then
get skis that fit -- they can be found to work with the various
binding systems.
