Three days ago (Oct 1) Tone & I hiked to the top of Breidalseggi, the highest peak in Raulandsfjell (1568 m asl): The weather was _really_ freaky; 15-20 C, no wind, clear blue skies. Today the same mountain is covered in snow. :-) Terje -- - Terje.Mathisen at tmsw.no "almost all programming can be viewed as an exercise in caching" |

Was 85F in Bozeman yesterday and 70 right now, but several inches of white stuff predicted for the upper southern range (9000'+) and maybe even a couple of inches down in West Yellowstone (~6600') starting Thursday. Will have to see how much sticks, because nighttime have been well above freezing, even up high. Gene |

Looks like I will be mostly backcountry-skiing this season. Just hiked in the area past weekend. Patches of snow at 8000 and above |

About 5" in Bozeman yesterday and looks from the cams like West got a
few. Not enough or dry enough to open anything. Unfortunately, looks like nothing in the offing yet for next week but temps up into the 40s. West Yellowstone fest is just 2+ weeks away, so here's to hoping.. Gene On Mon, 03 Oct 2011 21:49:49 -0400 gr wrote: Sounds like a sign of an early winter! yahooooooooo! |
