Epic Condition In Mt Shasta California
From: WWW.SKIMTSHASTA.COM
Right now the Mt Shasta Ski Park has a 128 inche BASE! And more on the way! This is it, unless you bonked your head on the ice last year, and your still in a coma, this weekend can be a lifetime memory. For years to come people will we talking about January 2008 in MT - FREAKING - SHASTA! Mt Shasta is due to have sunny skies and more than 95 inches of new snow! No where in the United States are the conditions better than right here. If you are learning to Snowboard now is the time lots of soft snow to help cushion the falls. If you choose to go backcountry, don't go above 5000 feet unless you have extensive avalanche and survival training. Seriously keep in mind that during a storm like this, you can not assume rescue can be accomplished. As of 0830 hrs on 1/5/08 both the Everitt Mem. Hwy. to Bunny Flat (so sledding is limited to Snowman's Hill) and the Castle Lake roads remain closed and gated. Down trees, deep snow and large wind drifts, along with heavy snow fall on priority roads, will keep these closed all day Mt. Shasta Avalanche Center Mt.
