Similar to my request for Wengen. I was after previous year's
statistics to get a feel for the recent norm. It's a reasonable question, Cathy wasn't asking for a weather forecast. What is going wrong with this NG? |

The problem is that there hasn't been a "recent norm", conditions have fluctuated so much even week to week let alone year to year, that no one can predict anything at the moment :( Chris *:-) |

Thanks Cathy We were there mid April last year and the conditions were very good, powder at the top, soft and heavy at the bottom and a bit agricultural approaching the village. Even then parts of the resort were closed. The week before had been poor however. It is all a matter of luck. If you want some pictures look at http://www.zen20587.zen.co.uk/Winter...2004/index.htm. Some of the pics have Chamonix on them. If you choose a high resort such as Verbier good snow can occur into May but you may have to take the lift back down from the midstation. It all depends what the storms, that appear fairly common at that time of year, bring. A few years ago we went to Courcheval in April and had a brilliant time, even skiing down to 1300 on powder snow. A friend went the next week and they only skied the mornings and went walking in the woods during the afternoons, which they thoroughly enjoyed. John |
