Alpine point system
Can someone explain this: you get less FIS points the closer you come to
first place. But this translates into higher points for the Overall and Discipline standings. How do you get from Fis to Overall points? I've looked at today's Sölden results and I see they're correlated, but don't see any obvious mathematical formula. |

FIS points is for seeding (and qualifying) for FIS sponsored races. World Cup race points are awarded for finish position, and have nothing to do with FIS seed points. Bottom seeded could conceivably start last and finish first, earning top points for a race. |
